Is 16GB of ram future proof for gaming ?

Solution
Hey Dazkyl,

8 GB will be more than enough for any current games. Longer term 12 GB or 16GB will be more future proof, but you probably won't use that much RAM for a year or two.

For RAM speed, stick with something around 1600 or 1866 Mhz. More than that the price vs performance starts to sky rocket without much return.

I believe the most ram I have used in BF4 with firefox opened and many tabs is 6gb. that's also with a few programs running on top of it in the background. I would say 8gb should be fine for a few years or so. worst case, you just have to keep background processes to o min.
