My PC won't connect to my Samsung 4k TV.

Today I tried to connect my PC up to my 4k TV using a HDMI cable. I have done this before and it has worked absolutely fine. However now my TV just says there is 'no signal'.

If i disconnect the cable, it says 'disconnected cable' so it recognises that the cable is there or not, but just says no signal now.

I have tried about 4 different HDMI cables, all doing the same thing. I can't understand why it would work a few weeks ago but not now?

My graphics card is a GTX 770 and the TV is a Samsung UE48HU7500 (48 inch UHD).
The only things I can think of is that the latest driver updates has changed something or there is something wrong with the card, although it just used to do it straight away and auto recognise the UHD resolution.

Any help would be great, cheers

Whenever I plug in the HDMI cable no display is shown. I used to be able to have my normal 1080p monitor plugged in with a dvi cable (like it is now) and then also have a hdmi for the tv and they both worked great. Now as soon as I put the hdmi cable in, my dvi display just turns black and occasionally flickers but then nothing happens?
And Ive tried restarting it with only a hdmi cable but that shows the initial startup (bios prompt) and then shows starting windows but then goes blank when it gets to the screen asking for a password to log on with?

The only display that comes up in that list is the one I'm using now (my 1080p one) which works fine? I cant check that list when the TV is plugged in as there is no display?

no there is no real list with models if that what you mean .when you connect any monitor it should appear under display settings .

I'm having this exact same issue, GTX-970 with Samsung 8550.

tbro7 I tried enabling the tv's uhd colour setting and it works but only up until windows starts up.

what worked for me was plugging the hdmi cable from my graphics card into port 2 and then selecting DVI/PC mode with the uhd color off. Once the pc connects once through the DVI/PC mode it then allows you to select any other mode i,e game, pc etc..

Disregard what is below - I thought I was responding to a different question - perhaps by you, about DVI to Samsung UHD connection failing. As for HDMI to Samsung UHD with Oneconnect - I know what you mean - an HDMI 1.4 version in one of the 'regular' HDMI ports on Oneconnect seems to work for me. I'll leave the (embarassing) response below if people with DVI/Samsung issues happen to browse.
French - Maybe some of those who told of ways to 'solve' this have found a solution. I have a Samsung top-line UH9000 55", and I spent around 3 hours this afternoon trying to solve the DVI-to HDMI connection problem, and was pretty frustrated with Samsung for not anticipating that folks might have a dual TV/Computer use for this TV. In the end, I found nothing, including the suggestions here, worked. It turned out to be my own stupidity - I had read a review of my videocard - radeon r9 280 before buying it, and remember the reviewer complaining that the only ports in the card were DVI/*mini*-HDMI. Whatever that latter is, I don't have an adapter for it. After hours of trying everything, and getting ready to put back my old card with an HDMI port, I discovered a small, dark cover that needed to be removed to reveal a full size HDMI port. After which, the Samsung 9000 was agreeable to any resolution from the max downwards, and accepted the HDMI cable simply plugged into either of the vanilla-HDMI ports on their 'Oneconnect' box. Sound wasn't a problem either. Silly me. From what I've heard about Samsung support, it might be the most efficient to get a videocard that simply has that HDMI connection. the Radeon r7770 can be found, sometimes on sale, for $60-$70, and has it. If your card truly doesn't have an HDMI connector, I'd think that 7770 would be a better card, and you'd have some hair left over, rather than having pulled it all out :)

I don't know if this was answered elsewhere, but if you search for your graphics card control panel (mine is NVidia) and go under "Display", and then "Change Resolution" and set the resolution to "custom", you can change the resolution to 3840x2160 or 4096x 2160 or whatever your resolution is, this changes the video output to what you set the resolution to.

I had the same problem, with a Samsung 39.5" 650D, and this fixed the problem, it should work for you as well.

Best of luck, Faranox
