Dual boot - Auto-boot OS and only boot other ...

I'm on Windows 7 and I was wondering if there's a way to dual boot it with Linux (Mint is preferred) in such a way that it will automatically load W7 without the bootloader delay (otherwise it defeats the point of having 7 on an SSD). However, I was wondering if there's a way to tell the system to boot into the other OS on next startup, sort of similar to Windows' Advanced Boot options.

Anybody know of anything?

Also, yes, I know about VM's. Sadly, they seem to run like piss for my purposes and Oracle's VirtualBox constantly throws an error on trying to start.
