wait for gtx 960 it will be a lot better( should be about a month) and get xfx 650- watt PSU its higher quality and probably cheaper
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650snlb... oh and dont get 24GB ram you dont need it all you need is 8GB total its the best sweet spot your wasting money on more so get 2x4GB set

Yes, it should be good for a year, If your primary use is gaming. But there are a few points to consider.

1. It's a bad idea to mix RAM sticks. They must be identical, and even if identical they are not guaranteed to work. 2x8 is more than enough. Even 8 gb is good enough for any game today.

2. Rather than a 760 I would save for a GTX 970. Your current card is OK for mid settings in most games today. And the 970 will last much longer. But the 760 is a very good card too.

3. For CPU a Seasonic S12II 520 or XFX pro 550 is good. Corsair CX/Vs (I assume you are getting that) is NOT a bad PSU, but they are not made for Gaming systems and may not hold very long under stress.

personnal opinion,
take a i5 4690K instead of 8350 FX
24gb ram is too much, 4X4GB is enough for rendering

For a single 760/970 a quality 550 is enough. If you plan to overclock heavily I would go to the safe side and get a Seasonic m12II 650 or a XFX pro 650W.

Or this one. One of the best mid range PSU out there

What is the purpose of this pc?

If it is for rendering or multithreaded apps, then a FX-8350 is a good upgrade.
Adding ram would be good too. Windows 7 home premium has a ram limit of 16gb. Past that, you need pro or ultimate or windows 8.
And... no ram vendor will support multiple kits, you are on your own there.

If the usage is gaming, the fx-835o will not help. Few games use more than 2-3 cores. It would be better to spend some time overclocking your 4 core.
The evo cooler will be helpful. I am not certain how good your motherboard will be for overclocking. AMD overclocking seems to be sensitive to the motherboard.

If your case has two 120mm intake fans, you probably will not benefit from extra fans.
I might defer on them.

On the psu, the windforce is more power hungry, needing a 6 and 8 pin connector.
The corsair 650w should be enough, but I would look for a better quality unit like Seasonic or xfx.

What are you likely to want to do in a year+ ? That is what will determine how long your rig will last.

My thought is that for long term upgrade capability you want to be using a intel quad and a Z97 based motherboard.

I will be using it only for gaming, i don't want to spend more than $800 should i ditch the motherboard and AMD get a i7 and a good graphics card, keep everything else?

for gaming get any 4th Gen i5 you can, with a H97 board with a non K processor and a Z97 with a K processor. That's much much better than any FX.
