I have been to the HP website and searched for this driver, but it will not show specifics to this model laptop. Troubleshoot keeps showing it is missing. I am also missing the PCI Simple Comms Controller and the PCI Serial Port. Any suggestions how I can fix this problem? Thanks!

It sounds like it's the Intel chipset driver you need to install. Hit up http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdHome/?sp4ts.oid=3688870&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3DswEnvOID%253D4057%257CswLang%253D%257Caction%253DlistDriver&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken and grab the chipset driver for your Windows version. See if that gets them installed.

That's the hardware for the fingerprint scanner. If you don't have one you can safely ignore the fact that there are no drivers. Alternatively you can try to locate the drivers and install them. Either way it won't cause problems.
What about the PCI serial port driver and the PCI Controller? Will that have any effect? I am trying to backup to a new WD Passport and keep having failures. Seems to be timing out because of the USB 2 to USB 3. Was wondering if the PCI missing drivers would contribute to this problem. Thanks!

Nope, has nothing to do with USB. Did you download and install the chipset drivers for your laptop from HP?
What you need to do for that hardware that's missing drivers is post the PNP ID's, that's the only way to positively identify the drivers required.

Downloading the chipset from HP took care of the PCI issues, but not the base system device driver one. I have a fingerpad and it works despite the error, so will disregard. It is an older laptop and I guess that driver is not supported anymore.
As for the WD Passport I can see it in my devices list and can save data files to it. It just won't backup to it. I am not sure what PNP IDs are so if you can explain that would help. I have not tried to backup again since adding the chipsets.
