So I've undertaken my first PC build recently. Here's a list of my main components before I state the issue:
AMD Fx 6300 CPU
Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard
Asus Radeon R9 280 Graphics Card
Corsair Spec-01 Case
Ballistix Sport XT 8 GB DDR3 RAM
Cooler Master Thunder 600w Power Supply

The issue is that when everything is connected and I have my PC (for the time being) connected to my tv via HDMI, there is no video output. After reading all the information I can on the subject I think the problem may be the power supply? Apparently the R9 280 requires a 750w power supply, which I oversaw, working from a figure based on the general wattage of the system as a whole. Can anyone confirm this theory for me? Much appreciated guys

Perhaps not 750w:

The problem might be that coolermaster is probably a tier 4 unit which does not deliver advertised power:

I would return the psu, regardless.

That is a very low quality PSU and I would return it for something better. A quality 550-600w unit will be plenty for the r9 280 for example an XFX 550w or anything by Seasonic. A good budget option is the EVGA 600B
