I need to restore "a" folder from 7 CD Ghost image from year 2003 on my old XP desktop.

I can only read the First CD when I load the second CD I receive the following message:

"This is a ghost expand extent file. Please load the base Ghost image file”

I have a Win 7 Laptop and an external drive I use to back up the Laptop

Please help me I desperately need this folder.

What version of Ghost are you using? Newer versions are not compatible with the .gho files from the 2003 era.

If you made the disk set in 2003, the CDs mayhave gone bad, or you may not have the correct disks you need. Do you actually have all the disks in the correct order and how are you trying to read the image?

Did you check with Ghost support site?

I have run the Ghost integrity test on all of the disks and they checked out ok.
I have searched everywhere for the solution. Yes I have read the Ghost restore manual (which is poorly written) and it offers no solutions for restoring from Disk.

Are you using Ghost Explorer? Try copying the disk contects to the hard drive and open it from there. Do you have the GHO file on the disks?

I have a 1 terabyte external hard drive that I can use to copy the 7 disk to, however each disk starts with (CDR00001.GHO) which is not in folder formats; therefore I have no idea how to concatenate the 7 disks on the external drive. Once again when I use the Ghost Explorer to read the disk, the first disk works fine, however the second disk gives me the following: Error message: “This is a ghost expand extent file. Please load the base Ghost image file”.

If all of the files are of the same name, and the extender is .gho, then you do not have all of the pieces.

A multi part ghost image looks like this:

Filename.gho <-- Base image file
Filena01.ghs
Filena02.ghs
Filena03.ghs
.
.
.
filena0x.ghs

I have multiple backup and they are all labeled CDR00001.GHO - CDR00007.GHO
