My monitor only has a hdmi and a vga connection. It came with a hdmi to dvi connection that's what I use currently connecting to my gtx760.it's a 23'' 16:9 1ms 60hz asus monitor that I recently picked up

Would it be a better option to go with hdmi to hdmi since the 760 supports it.

Also when I watch YouTube video in full screen there's a blurry line across the top part of the screen haven't really noticed it in any games could it be the vga to dvi I'm currently using

HDMI to HDMI should be OK up to 60hz. If you buy a new monitor that supports it and want to do 144hz, you'll need DVI to DVI.

No, your GPU should be HDCP compliant. I run a GTX 760 in my HTPC hooked up to a Samsung TV via HDMI without any issues.
