Still using an old Cooler Master V8 from about 4 years ago. Time to upgrade. Case is a Fractal Design Define R4, options I'm looking at now are Cooler Master's Seidon 240M, Thermaltake's Water 3.0 Extreme, and Corsair's H100i.

I definitely like quieter cooling options, but I'm also running a 4690K that I am overclocking and need strong cooling.

More about : switch liquid cooling

I've been running similar self-contained liquid cooled units for years and they are great. Most likely during the installation you are going to have to remove the motherboard.

Other than that, it's easy. Keep an eye on it for the first few days to make sure the temperatures look good but you should be fine.

Installation and whatnot I'll have no issues with. I'm mostly looking for recommendations on which to pick. Obviously the main concern is making sure it's gonna cooperate with my case and do its job.

The Swiftech H220x is the best due to its performance and low noise opteration.

However, the best option for a noise concerned overclocker, is the Noctua NH-D15 as it outperforms every aio watercooler except 360mm ones.

Avoid the H100i. It is one of the lowest performing 240mm aio's out there and there are so many better options.

Definitely considering the Noctua coolers as well, though as a last resort because I'd much rather try out the liquid cooling for a while and see how I like it.

Also I'm surprised to hear you say to avoid the H100i, I had always heard good things about it but I'll keep this in mind for sure. Does it just not keep things as cool as other options?

The H100i is not bad, but I can list many coolers that can beat it. It is popular mostly due to looks and the lack of knowledge about other coolers. If you are going for a $99 cooler, I reccomend the NZXT kraken X41 or the cooler master glacier 240L.

Will definitely consider the Glacier 240, though I won't be looking at the Kraken as I'm only looking at 240mm rads.

Keep in mind that the Kraken X41 outperforms many 240mm radiators. Anyways, also check out the Swiftech H220x which is my favorite aio on the market. You can even add more radiators on to it!
