Screen Resolution and Brightness

I installed windows 8.1 in my Dell inspiron n5010. The screen resolution is 1024*768 which makes the display very awkward and it cant be increased in the screen resolution menu and the brightness of the screen also can't be adjusted. Plz help.

It looks like your issue is because you don’t have the appropriate video driver installed. Unfortunately, upon looking at the available drivers for your computer, it doesn’t look like any are available for Windows 8.1.

If you take a look in Device Manager, you may also find other devices that don’t have the appropriate drivers installed. Anything with a yellow warning icon next to it will show that it may have a problem.

In the future, you may want to run the Windows 8.1 Upgrade Assistant to ensure that your computer is fully compatible with Windows 8.1 before installing it.
