Hey guys! I ordered a custom computer for gaming and photoshop and 3D.Also bought a brand new UPS to avoid power issues since I live in a somewhat unstable power grid area.
I ordered my old HD to be installed in the new computer but have not yet formated it. And I currently am using the new HD as main.
Well, I had it for just one day, and it did run with no problems for about 12 hours while I was installing all the software. Suddenly, when I started playing Guild Wars 2, the computer restarts and prompts me with the BIOS message : " anti surge was trigered to protect your power supply" etc. It surprised me since I have been using the UPS since the begining.
So I started reading these forums to find a solution for the problem since it only seemed to do this when using high demanding software, but not with regular internet browsing, etc.
Based on what I read I decided to turn off the anti surge on the BIOS to see if that would help. It didn't after a while the computer had some kind of error and promped me with a few error messages on windows, after that the windows interface dissapeared to only leave my wallpaper visible. I restarted the computer by switching off the power and it worked ok again, after reading some more decided to sleep on it and see if I could find the answer today. Now the computer doesn't even go into BIOS when I turn it on, the fans and everything seem to work but nothing happens.
My computer specs are:
-Asus H87M-E motherboard
-Intel core i-7 4770k 3,5Ghz
- 4x Kingston HyperX Fury- 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
- 2x Seagate 1TB HD
-Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 2GB
-Cooler Master Seidon 120V
- 600W Cooler Master PSU
I'm a COMPLETE noob when it comes to hardware, so forgive me for the long post and maybe posting pointless info, but I don't really know what is important regarding this stuff and what isn't.
I'll be bringing the PC to a local technician, but they are not very reliable where I live, so if you guys can give me some advice I'll be super grateful.
I should also mention that I live in a secluded area of Central America, so it is very hard to get new components without a 10 hour trip, so I'd rather try everything I can before actually replacing components and stuff of the sort. Thanks!!
