Hi People!

I have an ASUS N550JV with a NVidia GEFORCE GTX 850M. The laptop also has an integrated Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 to save battery. I bought it mainly for using Maya on the go so its kinda important that it runs Maya well, to save time. I recently discovered that after rendering in mental ray I get this report:

Initialized VP2.0 renderer {
Version : 5.3.1.800. Feature Level 4.
Adapter : Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
Vendor ID: 32902. Device ID : 1046
Driver : .
API : OpenGL V.2.
Max texture size : 16384 * 16384.
Max tex coords : 8
Shader versions supported (Vertex: 4, Geometry: 4, Pixel 4).
Shader compiler profile : (Best card profile)
Active stereo support available : 0
GPU Memory Limit : 2112 MB.
CPU Memory Limit: 15453.7 MB.

It is possible to specify in the Nvidia driver to set the 850M to default for Maya but this hasnt seemed to have changed anything. I checked the Autodesk website and my card is not listed as certified/uncertified. I'm not even certain Maya is or isnt using the GTX card for rendering. Any ideas on what is going on or if there is a workaround? (ie use a different renderer)

Many thanks for all the help!
