Hello,

I already posted my issue in the graphic card subforum, but i think it is more relevant to this one.

Specs of my setup :

-mobo : Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Z77-DS3H x.x

gpu : nvdia gtx285

- cpu : Intel Core i5 3570K 3.40 GHz (Ivy Bridge)

os : 7

The issue

i recently moved in a new country, and took my desktop computer.

1) To be sure that components would not be damaged during the trip, i dissambled the desktop and transported the mobo/gpu/and so on in my hand lugagge.

2) When reassembling the whole thing, i figured out that i forgot to take the dvi/vga converter, so i used the inboard graphic card for a couple of days.

3) finally found a shop selling a converter, time to boot with my long companion, the gtx 285.

The screen is black, wont deliver any image, the card is not detected in the device manager.

the fan of the gpu is spinning , and the two leds are geen (which means the card is correctly powered i think)

What could possibly go wrong there ?

What i tried so far :

- reset cmos and set Pcie/peg as default graphics
- disabling internal gpu
-resetting cmos without the converter
-desinstalling the inboard gpu (intel hd 4000)

What i didnt try

-testing the gpu on a different pc (i cant!)
-updating the bios (didnt research further in this way / need inputs if it would be useful or not because i would need to buy a usb stick)

update : flashed the bios with latest version available, still not detected

Thanks you for your time !

woud love some inputs, there are a lot of threads about undected gpus but i cant find a decent solution.

update #2 :

This option keeps switching back to auto when i set it to peg/pci-e.
