Hello,

My much anticipated PC showed up last night and I did not hesitate to boot it up. I was met immediately with a BSOD. After multiple attempts I tried to boot from the 8.1 recovery disk that came with the PC and I get put through a cycle of BSOD errors while trying to get to the recovery options. The furthest I've gone was having it tell me that there is no OS located on the hard drive. Frustrated I went to bed. I called in sick to work today and had plenty of time to troubleshoot. I have gotten nowhere. I even attempted to install a fresh version of windows 7 via usb and was told that "windows cannot install required files, may be corrupt or missing". Reaching out to CyberPower PC proved fruitless. Level 2 tech support told me "Its probably your hard-drive bro, send it back". I am in dire need of this machine working for this weekend as I ordered it for a large project. I cannot afford to send it back to Cyberpower and wait another 3 weeks to get back the PC with who knows what else going wrong. So far I can confirm that the bios recognized the HDD and so does the Windows 7 Installer. I just cant seem to get an OS on this thing for the life of me. :(

Honestly I know it sucks...but if you already made sure everything is connected correctly...and tried resetting the bios...then I would just send it back. If you mess with it to much they might try and say something about your warranty...I don't know how bad they are.

Standard procedure for me is to strip the computer down to the essentials and start over. Start first by burning memtest to a CD on your old computer.

1) If you have onboard video, remove ALL expansion cards and plug the monitor into the onboard video. If not, install only one video card.
2) Remove all unnecessary connections to the motherboard. Extra USB plugins, extra peripherals, sound, etc.
3) Remove all unnecessary drives. Leave only the SSD and CD drive plugged in.
4) Remove all but one stick of RAM
5) Reset the CMOS
6) Attempt to boot into the BIOS and UEFI. Set hard drive to AHCI or RAID. Set CD-ROM drive first in boot order. Leave other settings alone.
7) Insert Memtest and restart, saving changes.
8) Run Memtest for a couple hours and ensure no errors are produced (IF YOU HAVE FAILURES AT THIS STAGE, SHIP THE SYSTEM BACK BECAUSE SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG)
9) Reboot, remove Memtest, insert Windows 8.1 CD, attempt installation
10) After OS install, add back other peripherals (including sticks of RAM) one at a time to isolate the source of the problem.

If I had to guess, your problem is bad RAM. If it were me I would actually run Memtest as a first line of defense. The above procedure is more thorough.
