Sapphire R9 270X 4GB 1020MHz GDDR 5 PCI Express Graphics Card

Or

EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 4GB GDDR5 FTW with ACX Cooling Graphics Card (HDMI, DVI-I, DVI-D, Display Port, 256 Bit, 3D Vision Ready, SLI Ready)

The EVGA is the one i would get if i wanted to spend the money it is £100 more than the Sapphire!
But i want to save some cash, it will NOT be used for gaming!

Solution

I have a Sapphire R9 290x card and it is awesome (The R9 290x though costlier does CAD really well for a gaming card compared to other top tier gaming cards so I could use it as a CAD card if I ever need to use the graphics horsepower). Sapphire offer only 2 year warranty however and you could find different companies that may provide 3 years instead but Sapphire is definitely one of the top tier aftermarket manufacturers...

If it will not be used for gaming, then what will you be using it for really?

4GB will be overkill unless you have a specific reason why you need 4GB VRAM which I'm guessing you want to run multiple displays (3+ Displays) for a workstation? Is that right?

I would go with the cheaper option, the GTX 760 is a bit faster than the R9 270x but I think the R9 270x is probably a more suited card only because of better OpenCL performance.

■ Its just to swap out my old 2 gb and recycle it into my smaller computer and have something worth replacing it!

There is a Plait 4 gb option but it's too heavy on the power! And still a bit expensive!

Thanks for the info do you have actual experience with the card (sapphic) or know people who have used 1?

I would suggest the R9 270x then for sure, it's probably a better CAD card than the GTX 760 though not as good as the real workstation CAD Cards but it will be alright though unless you cannot find a decent CAD card for around the same price and same VRAM as a R9 270x, If you cannot, then the R9 270x will do.

Sapphire is a good choice. Just make sure to go for a nice cooler though to keep the card cooler instead of those reference coolers if that is the kind of cards you are eyeing on.

Ok sounds good, I'll look Into after market cooling and probably put another case fan in it and look into upgrading my CPU stock cooler! If needs be!
