Umm, why are you using a 4690k with an R9 270X?

Because you're using WAY too much CPU. Using a $4690K with a 270X is like using $8000 rims on a Honda Civic. Get a cheaper CPU and a better GPU. You'll have FAR more performance

I was under the impression he already had the 270x and was just upgrading the cpu for now.

If you already have the 4690k, then go for a decent mobo from Asus, Gigabyte, Asrock or MSI

The ASUS Hero actually isn't the best choice. It's plagued with BIOS issues while the MSI Z97 GD65 is a virtually identical board spec-for-spec and it's significantly cheaper at that. He's much better off with that

Yea i had a msi gaming board for my last computer and I can say it was a great mobo. Never owned a hero my self but i was looking at it at one time and it had great reviews everywhere i looked. But did not know about the bios issues nice to know that.

What MoBo CPU and GPU would you recommend for around $550?
