Can these two be connected together wirelessly so the TP-Link router is a repeater?

The best way to connect the two would be via an Ethernet cable - you can use the wireless connection (set the TP-LINK to be an access point), however - 50% of your bandwidth is going to be router to router communication.....

Yes, you can set them up that way, and setting the TPlink as an access point, and not as a repeater is preferred.

Hello there ADeshane!

That Cisco router/modem is the same one that my ISP (Rogers Communications) hands out!

I had the same issue, the Cisco's router capabilities are extremely poor, so I also purchased an independent router, just like you.

To set it up the best way, without compromising bandwidth, is to set the Cisco in "bridge mode," and use a CAT 5e Ethernet cable to connect it to the router.

You can alternatively set the TP Link as an access point, and connect that way, but just like how ronintexas said, it will significantly slow down your internet speed.

Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions! :)
