I've just acquired an Asus crosshair II 790FX for $50, pretty happy with the buy. Granted, it didn't include the SupremeFX II Audio Card it's suppose to come with and I couldn't find the port for the front panel audio so I assume it doesn't have one but it supports some early AMD Phenom II processors and three way SLI. Pretty impressive for a board that was released about three and a half years ago. I bet it'd still make a pretty decent gaming build.

Actually, its the second version in this link. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/CROSSHAIR_II_FORMULA/

The best processor it fits is the Phenom II 940 Black edition, not the best Phenom II but alot better than the series one Phenom I put in it at the moment. I have 8GBs of Patriot 800Mhz DDR2 ram in it and I've ordered an Asus Xonar DSX 7.1 card and I'm currently looking for two or three good Geforce cards that have reasonable performance for value to do a 3 way SLI and a power suppy that can handle it, which I think it'll have to be 1000+ watts. I think this old board still has some life in it and I want to see that gaming heritage that belongs to the Republic of Gamers! :D

Is this the board? https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/CROSSHAIR_III_FORMULA/

If you're like me and like fooling around with the old K10 AMD processors, that will be a nice board to do it with. Lucky you. Wish I had it for my Phenom II X4 965BE. ;-) It's on an old MSI 785GM-E85 mATX board. http://us.msi.com/product/mb/785GME65.html#hero-overview
I have it OC'd to a stable 4GHz but never tried any more on the MSI board.
