I do a lot of CAD work and rendering, my gaming rig does the job, but I know I could do that job much faster.

My current rig:
i7 950 @stock 3.06Ghz
12Gb ddr3 1333mhz
750 watt PSU
Asus p6t
Gtx 580
250 GB intel SSD

Here's what I'm planning on getting:
2x Xeon x5675
(keep old ram from gaming rig)
(use existing PSU)
SUPERMICRO MBD-X8DAL
Gtx 970

I realize there are newer processors out, but I can get 2 processors and a mobo for under 600$
I'm open to suggestions, I'm not super up to date on CPU's so perhaps I am going about this wrong. My peers have suggested the new haswell-e series, but I feel like 2 six core processors are better. Or maybe I should hold out until broadwell?

I would seriously just wait. Your current setup can do it, even if it takes longer than you think it should...and by the time the newer stuff comes out in 2015-2016 everyone will have a better guess of what will be next, which would help figure out a good upgrade time frame and what the upgrades may be.

Such as 8 core CPUs with hyperthreading for $800 maybe? DDR4 with good latency and clocks? All components improving and becoming cheaper? Who knows...but whatever comes after this next/new wave of stuff (so 2 waves from now) should be pretty amazing.
