since these cards draw alot less power but do have there spikes i wonder if you could get away with a 650 or 750 watt psu to run 2 in SLI

Solution

Not with a 650W, a good quality 750W like from EVGA/ Antec/ SeaSonic/ XFX would do with little headroom, 850W for a lots of headroom.
