I've been having an odd issue last couple of days, when i first attempt to start up the computer (self-built, about 3 months old, no other issues) in the morning, I get nothing - no led, no fans etc.
Yesterday I spent half a day taking it apart, and putting it back together, testing case switch, removing most components etc, trying to figure out the issue, then it just randomly started up. First time it booted came up with bootmgr error, which i solved by using windows repair. After that worked fine rest of the day.

This morning I had same thing happen, no life at all. Went out for a few hours, came back and after a bit of fiddling (nothing much really) it just randomly went again.

Trying to find my multimeter to test the PSU, as this seems like the most likely cause. Is there any particular way to confirm that it is the psu causing this? If its not the psu, what other possible causes could it have?

Your PSU may be overheating, causing it to refuse to start up after prolonged use.

Alternatively, it could be aging. If it was only providing just enough power for the system, age may now be causing it to not provide enough.

If there is dust buildup within the PSU this can cause erratic behaviour. Clean it as best you can (compressed air is a good idea), but be aware - do not open your PSU. It can hold a potentially lethal electrical charge within even while disconnected from the power socket.

If at all possible test your rig with a different PSU. This will confirm if the problem is there or elsewhere in the machine.
