Will a GTX 970 or 980 Bottleneck an i5 2500k?

wtf no a 2500k will be fine and get a 212+ and OC it to 4.0-4.4ghz and man you will be kicking butt in games

Yes you can overclock with that CPU cooler...how much you can overclock? I don't know. The exact same CPU may be able to get a different OC...some are just from a better batch...and of course the rest of the temp(idle, case, ambient, load) may affect the OC...along with the cooling of the CPU cooler.

i5 2500k is a solid chip, I love it. I put mine up to 5.0ghz no sweat (to see if I could). I wouldn't recommend trying so without decent cooling though.

I run it at 4.5ghz with a Noctua NH-U12P SE2 and it idles between 30-40'c, closer to 40 mostly. Ran at between 18-30'c before OC!

Can't wait for my MSI GTX 970 <3
