1440p 1-2ms 120hz monitor

I don't actually have that deep pockets. A lot of money went in to my build and am going to use it for a lot of video gaming and a lot of video editing.. so i have this monster grphics card so id like to have a great monitor to go along with it.... i would be willing to settle for 3ms and maybe a lil less than 120hz. Im actually curious of your opinion on this because is it overkill to get something like this and the jump from 60hz to 120hz going to make a difference in video editing/gaming.
