Continuous beep on startup?

Long non-stopping beep on startup? I recently built a PC and it worked fine for almost a week now, but I booted it up after work and I got an ear deafening post beep. It stopped after windows loaded and I plugged in my headset, but now does it every time I boot. Just wondering what the issue could be?

(On windows 8 if it means anything)

A Microsoft rep provides a few possible causes, as well as steps to turn off the system sounds. The user isolated the problem himself as a hardware related issue.
