Two days ago i had taken the RAM out to change the way the Hyper 212 was facing i put it back in and it said there was only 4GB of RAM when i had 8GB installed (physically). I took both RAM out and put them back in and it wouldn't boot. I bought a new CPU and mobo it booted for 5 minutes and it still said 4GB installed in the BIOS, i took it out and changed the position of the RAM and again, it wouldn't boot. Now i'm suspecting the PSU is killing the CPU'S, Tomorrow i'm going back to the store that i bought the components at and telling them the PSU, CPU and RAM is dead. Is it the PSU?

It sounds like one of the sticks of RAM to me is dead or the RAM isn't seated properly?

Some boards can be a little finicky on which slots you must use, I would consult your manual and try each stick of RAM individually in the board in slot 1 (or A depending on board) to see which boots and which doesn't - may just need one stick replacing. It's least likely to be the CPU over anything else generally.

I don't know why you pulled the cpu out. Have you bent a pin?

Check your ram dimm slots - clean them. Check your ram with memtest86.

So is it only one slot that works or one stick of ram?

Have you bent a pin? (you need a magnifying glass)

I don't think so, because it booted fine the first time but said 4GB of RAM i took it out resated it and now it doesn't POST, beep or show ANYTHING on the monitor. Here is my build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RpFNsY

Do you have another machine you can test the memory in to start with? I would also check for bent pins as recommended by i7, as if it's shorting it could cause random errors like your seeing or no POST.

You said "I bought a new CPU and mobo" - so how did the cpu get put on the mobo?

It turned on so there must be no bent pins. I have a AMD FX-8320.

You avoided the question, so I gather you fitted the cpu.

I rest my case your honor.
