Hi there

How can i update my bios by downloading it, placing it on the hard drive, going to BIOS, finding it from there and flashing it. I don´t have an usb or a empty cd where i am now, so that´s the only option. So could someone walk mi step by step trough this.

Thank you :)

What the Z97 Gaming 5? Or something else? Have you read the manual on how to update it?

Looks like you can use MSI liveupdate, but there can be a risk of it stuffing it up. If youre not careful

I cant tell you how to update an MSI never had one. Different computers have different methods of updating the BIOS

No no no no no MSI liveupdate! aka. motherboard bricker. There is an warning not to do it or you will brick your motherboard! :ouch:

Read the manual on how to flash. If it says you cant do it in windows, you cant

It says on the site for some bioses to use liveupdate, or m flash

When updating BIOS via M-Flash, please make sure that your USB storage device is recognized as "Removable Device",
If your USB storage device is not recognized as "Removable Device", please update BIOS via MSI Live-update under windows.

Thats what it says for every single BIOS update

So its one or the other
