guys i just bought a tp link tl-sf1005d 5 port switch i want to ask can i use this switch without internet connection so i can just set the ip on each of the pc or what should i do i was using this switch for a mc server without internet connection thanks

A switch such as that essentially acts as a splitter, allowing you to connect multiple devices to one network port. It has nothing to do with Internet connectivity.

If you want to create a home network, you need to cable the switch to a router and then cable the devices (desktop, laptop, etc.) to either the switch or the router.

If all you want to do is move files between devices inside your house you can use just a switch. You would normally just set the IP manually on each device but you can use the 169.254.x.x addresses that are assigned if you turn on dhcp and there is no dhcp server. Normally you would never use these 169.254 addresses but your case is in a way what they were designed for.
