Hi everyone,
I just finished my first time computer build, but I am having major problems. In advanced, I'm sorry if I post anything nooby or don't seem to be great at giving you info, as I'm completely new to these sorts of forums.
In short, my problem is this: When I start up my build, it lights up and all the fans start. However, nothing comes up on the monitor. Also, on that little 2-digit display thing on the motherboard (not sure what it is called, sorry), an "8" appears. Roughly 7 seconds later it all stops, then starts again in about two seconds. This time the monitor flashes about twice, the display thing on the motherboard starts changing around with different combinations of numbers and letters, but then it stops again. This process then just repeats.
Now, before anyone posts "have you read this or this", I would like to say, as far as I know, I have read it all. However, don't be discouraged from giving a link if you think it may help. I have tried everything I could think of.
I managed to get it to work once, and this was when the monitor was unplugged, and I had just put back in the motherboard; I have no idea what was different though.

Specs:
No GPU plugged in right now
Motherboard: GA-Z97X-SOC Force
Power Supply: Corsair 900W
Processor: Intel i7 4790K
RAM: (Normally have 2 8GB, but only 1 plugged in right now for testing)

Thanks for any help, you don't realise how much it means to me :)

a) Thanks for the fast reply.
b) I've already looked at that page a lot, so I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. However, if you want I can send a picture of the setup atm.

Quit lookin at the page and go through the checklist.

Did your memory test OK?

Are both your motherboard connectors on properly?

What voltages are you getting from your PSU?

What beep code are you getting from your internal speaker?

A picture won't tell me any of this. And it's not me who is fixing this. It's you.

Like i7baby said check that list .You May have to look for an older PC speaker for the beeps though.
If your board is in need of a BIOS update than odd things can occur. Gigabyte, like Some Asus Motherboards, can have the BIOS Flashback button which is useful and can save you from having to return it. If your able to navigate to the UEFI go too boot settings and make sure that your boot priorities are selected correctly. eg:
Boot Priority 1. CD/DVD ROM( if you have one or you need to install the OS from Disk)
Boot Priority 2. Primary Drive( your SSD most likely_

Thanks for all the help guys. I actually had the motherboard tested today, and it was faulty -_-. They then tested the entire stock of Gigabyte motherboards and they were all faulty, so I'm getting it replaced. Thanks anyway for the help :).
