I'd not touch this MoBo for FX 9, its not an ideal MoBo to OC even FX 8, let alone 9. Try, take the multiplier higher and check for stability, pretty sure it'd not be stable though.

Geez, if I were you I would UNDERCLOCK so that the motherboard does not go boom.

Its not running at the speed it should FOR A REASON.

Get your motherboard replaced, ASAP, even running it underclocked I would not trust it.

Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0.

Cheapest but decent option for your CPU. its goes for around 120$.

Budget?

Asus Sabertooth is an extremely fine piece. GB 990FX are great choices too.

Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 is 150-170 bucks depending on region, my first recommendation.

Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 is cheaper, but still a great option.

Both shall not only run it on stock speeds, but will allow some OCing too.

It'd be more than fine, its a great MoBo for any FX. Yes it'd run at 4.4Ghz stock, if not more.

Yes, you need to clean and replace the paste every time the processor and cooler are separated.

Just use a dry tissue and rub off the paste with moderate force, DO NOT bend the pins though.

Alcohol isn't really necessary.

What does that mean that these motherboards supports only 140watt TDP? Because this AMD FX-9370 Max TDP is 219.

It supports higher TDP CPUs after the BIOS updates, and it should come updated unless you get a very old piece.
