motherboard asus p5qpl am
psu - 650w
cpu- intel core 2 duo e7500 2.93
present graphic card- nvidia gt 520

i have ordered sapphire r9 270x graphic card and was thinking if i can use both my old and ne graphic card cz my old one is in anotherslot..

You can't make the two video cards work together to increase performance. They are different brands, require different drivers and are not compatible.

You are better off with the 270X by itself.

Your motherboard only has one PCI-Ex16 slot, so unless your GT520 has a PCI (not compatible with PCI-E) interface, there is no place to install it once the R9-270x is installed.
