Ok, so I've had the computer for nearly 2 years, haven't touched a single thing recently, everything was working fine, then a few days ago, I noticed my rear case fan wasn't spinning.

LED was still on, so i tapped it and it started spinning.

Cleaned out the dust, everything was fine.

Then it did it again.

Then it turned off altogether (no fan, no LED, nothing).

Then it randomly come back on.

Then it would only come on during boot, but shut off when Windows started.

Then out of nowhere it would turn on FULL BLAST, and then shut off again.

Searched through a bit, and tried a few things I saw, Q-Fan control doesn't help (tried every setting), changing plugs around doesn't help, tried swapping the fan out completely with a new one, didn't work.

So, is my Power supply failing? Or am i missing something?

Weird thing is, the computer temperatures seem fine, no overheating, and the fan will turn on if I really crank the computer under a heavy load (but it comes on at full blast and then shuts off again), it does this even with Q-Fan completely disabled.

Where is this fan connected to?

I would try another fan header first then another fan if possible but ad these dont change this problem then, it sounds like a fan profile or similar setting any chance you have an Asus motherboard cause mine did the same it was just a setting in ai suite 3
Could be site form of power failure to the fan I suppose or loose connection
Hope something helps
Cheers
