Hello!

So i have this problem with my computer... i have just build it its 2 days old . The 1st day it worked ok next day i wanted to turn it on it didn't work, so i opend it up and noticed that cpu fan is not working. I tried to unplug cpu fan and powersupply also i uninnstaled the fan itself and pluged everything back in. At that point the computer started to work again but after 2 hours or somthing like that it stopped working for the same reason. Any way every thing else works fine but it seems like GPU fans are spinning alot faster.
My CPU is - i5 4690 , with a stock fan.

Please help, thank you!

Solution
Check that the CPU fan power cable is not wrapped around the heatsink and catching on the fan. Just unhook the whole cable and then route it nicely out of the way of the fan.

I see this problem a lot!

OK, then it's likely an issue with either the motherboard fan socket or the cooler itself. If they're plugged into the motherboard how do the case fans run?

If you haven't already (you probably have) check the socket pins for the fan on the motherboard are OK and not bent, check the wire on the cooler is OK and not damaged and check the plug on the cooler cable is OK.

Enter the BIOS and load the optimised defaults. You can also monitor temperatures there.

If that's all OK it's probably time to start swapping parts around. If you have a spare cooler for the CPU then try exchanging that first.

Case fans run ok without any problems.I haven't checked the socket pins yet will do that also will check the wires.
About the BIOS i can't enter it because my monitor doesn't start up

OK then reset he BIOS to default settings using the CLR CMOS jumper see here http://www.wikihow.com/Reset-Your-BIOS

If that doesn't help I suspect it's not actually the CPU fan at fault as you should at least have something briefly on the display before the CPU overheats and shuts down.

I would suggest the next step would be to breadboard the PC out of the case. On a wooden or glass table or a piece of cardboard NOT on carpet place your motherboard, PSU, ONE RAM stick and CPU+cooler. Connect the power switch from your case to the motherboard. Don't bother with GPU or HDD and connect the display to the socket on your motherboard. If the PC loads up then we know it's either a fault with one of the missing components or there was a short in the case and we can work from there
