Smaller size card

I have a GeForce GT730 (PCIEX16) but it does not have a full size motherboard connector. I will fit into the PCIEX16 slot, but will not use up the whole slot? Is it safe to install it like that? I've not seen a card like this before.

How odd. You can use PCI-E devices of smaller types in larger slots as they're all electrically compatible, simply means the card doesn't require them all. There's a few of these about is your card made by Palit by any chance?
