I have a copy of windows OEM and a new computer with no optical drive. Can I install Windows to a flash drive from the disk and use that? Or should I order and wait for an optical drive?

Solution
Yes you can install to a flash drive, this is actually much faster then using a dvd drive.
Here is a link to instrucitons with a link to the file download: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

When installing from USB you will need to set the USB drive as the first boot device. Most motherboards wont work if you go to boot device and select the USB drive, what you need to do is go under hard drive boot order and select the usb drive as the first device, then go into boot order and make sure the hard drive group is the first group in that boot order.
