I have a problem setting up a lan connection with all windows 8 Pc’s. I install the cables to each computers and switch and went to “Network and Sharing Center” then “Adapter Settings” and “Ethernet” to opened the Properties. Then I highlighted “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and I click on properties. There I checked “Use the following IP” address and I assign a 192.168.0.2 and onwards for every other Pc’s. Later I checked “Validate Upon Exit” and exit from there. Once that done I went to the “Command Prompt” (CMD) and PING each other IP address from the others Pc’s that were used but every time all the packets were lost. Also I used TRACERT just in case that work and no success as well. All pc’s used were windows 8 and 8.1… do I need to do an extra step to make it work for me? Or there’s something I Did wrong?

Can you screenshot your CMD ping screen? also add your IP configuration if you can.
I would go for 192.168.0.3 but that doesn't really matter. Make sure everything is turned on and it's connected properly.
Then, try turning off the firewall (just take them all down). It's fine as long as you're using LAN and not connected to the internet.
Usually, the firewall is the problem to all of this.
In addition, if you have proxy settings on your local machine, turn it off.

What did you use for your subnet masK? did you use 255.255.255.0 or 255.255.255.255? If you used the second one, there is your problem.

Proxy server should make no difference becasue you are not trying to go outside your local network.

As asked, can you do a screenshot of your IP configuration (open cmd prompt and type ipconfig).

Basic switches dont have IP addresses.
You would need a expensive Cisco Layer 3 switch before you would ever have a switch with an IP address.
