I wish to upgrade my graphics card as my computer is terrible at running modern games.

Specs:
Dell Inspiron 531
Windows Vista Basic Home

That was a budget system in 2007, it was on the low end then so imagine where it stands now. Your CPU and GPU are out of date and your power supply is lacking to really upgrade to something that is more inline to today's standards.
