I'm curious if my current rig could handle a new GPU without any hiccups.

GPU in question: GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5

Current parts which might not be compatible:

Motherboard: Biostar A880G+
CPU: AMD Phenom IIx4 955 3.20 GHz
Memory: 8GB (4GBx2) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)
Drives: 500GB ATA, 200GB ATA, DVD-RW ATA
Power Supply: PC Power & Cooling Silencer MK II 500W (PPCMK2S500)
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

The mobo only has a PCI Express 2.0x16, not a 3.0, but I've read that this shouldn't be an issue. My main concern is with the PSU and if it will be enough output.

Minimum Recommended System Power 500(W)
Two 6-pin Supplementary Power Connectors

Your mobo will be fine.

you MIGHT be able to get away with running this. It also depends on the age of your PSU. They start to under perform with age.

If it was me.... I would try it. Make sure you have the 2x 6-pin connectors.

A GeForce GTX 760 needs 30 amps on the 12v rail and at least 500 watt power supply with 2 - 6 - pin PCIE power connections.

You power supply meets all the requirements and is sufficient to run a 760,
