Well I moved to a new location and after using my computer I noticed my speakers randomly pop. Soon after I realized it happened when my refrigerator turns on. After some quick research, sure enough the two are linked. According to online forums, it is happening because of the power dropping after the compressor in the fridge kicks in.
I know enough about computers to know that having a good steady and clean power to a computer is important and battery backups do just that.
My question is this: What battery back up should I get? I just want to protect my hardware, I don't care about how long I can run on the backup battery. If it last a few minutes to where I can shutdown, great. And as for the non battery back up plugs, are they still protected against lightening strikes?
Any insight on this would be great.
Thanks.
