This machine was supposed to have a max run time of 9.10 hrs.
But de facto I have to recharge every 3 hrs.
How can that be??
I'm not doing much with the laptop other than run Word, Outlook and doing some Internet.
I replaced the HDD with an SDD; but that could hardly account for the 9.10 hr difference.

Any input appreciated !

if you have the brightness all the way up that could shorten it. when they throw out figures like this it doesn't mean you will get the same time when you have the settings close to or maxed out

Max run time is not using any resources, screen brightness on lowest settings, etc.

Real world use wont be what they claim.

You can go into power settings and set your cpu to use less resources and also reduce screen brightness and that should help.

Batteries also degrade over time, so they hold less charge.

What is your CPU percentage use in task manager, its possible you have a rouge processes eating up cpu clock and thus draining battery.

Hello everyone,
Thanks for your input. I just called Lenovo. They installed all kinds of updates for me, and now the system says I have 47 hrs of battery life remaining. Go figure !
So, in case any of you run into this kind of problem, updating certain system configurations seems to help. The Lenovo Tech Support was quite good.
