Windows 7 update problems?

For some reason I can't update my windows 7 (update KB2977728) for my 64 bit win 7 ultimate...

It says failed every time I try to install and it's slowing my system down, what should I do?

Looks like you have 2 options. A) Hide/ignore the update B) Reinstall windows.

Something is corrupted in you windows installation that's preventing it from installing. Hopefully you have your windows media and can backup everything first

Click on Start, type in "windows update" in the search bar, and open the windows update application.
On the left, click on "view update history" see if that specific update is listed there. It may be that it partially installed or is corrupted. If it is there, remove it and try to re-install again.

It says it 'fixed it' but I still cant install the update.
