Hi, as it says in the description I'm looking for a motherboard, a CPU and probably a CPU cooler.
I want the best I can get since I want it to last for a couple of years. I will overclock it so do I need a CPU cooler? My case is midtower and my budget is around $500.
Thanks.

CPU is excellent, one of the best before getting an i7 ( you dont need an i7 for gaming, it iwll give 1-2 fps increase)
The MOBO is excellent for overclocking and is very popular and has nice features. (and its ROG :p )
The cooler is in my opinion the best AIO water cooler you can get. You can OC your CPU to 4.4ghz plus cool and stable if you get a good chip.

Pretty much the same as mine but the MOBO and Cooler are beefed up a bit, if you can spare it I would personally chose my build but if you cant then the build that C12 suggests is good.

Is it necessary to have liquid cooling or will it work with a fan?
Thank you for the quick responses by the way.

Something like this perhaps (note that that cooler is large and may not fit inside your case)

The CM Hyper 212 EVO is a very popular cooler that offers acceptable cooling at a reasonable price.
