Which is the best GTX 980? I was going to buy an EVGA ACX card but I've heard that it has had problems with GPU alignment with the heat sink as well as noise.

More about : gtx 980

All of the big makers do good graphics cards, however the 980 has only been out for a week. Yes some cards are already evident that they are better then other, but I recommend waiting for a little while to see all the reviews on the cards. most reviews at the moment are on the reference version.

Best are the ASUS and MSI 980s this time around. I got the EVGA SSC ACX 2.0 and had to return it because it seemed to hot. Also it sounded like a cricket was in my machine. I returned it for the ASUS STRIX. Seems to be doing good so far. Comes with a backplate and is the only one with a metal fan shroud. MSI looks good too and more stylish. Does have a backplate though and msi never sells them separately. Can't go wrong with ASUS or MSI it looks like. Avoid the EVGA. Zotac got some good reviews too

that is a matter of opinion. it is rated to dissipate 600W. Way over reference 250w rating or whatever the reference cooler is

Thanks man. It's a shame that the EVGA fell short this time around. I really like the EVGA brand, it's never let me down and I like their stepup program and warranty. I also prefer their minimalist aesthetic design, but I will take a look at the ASUS and MSI.
