Ok so here is a little background. I recently had a software issue and as a result of that I had to wipe the hard drive that my operating system was on and re-download windows 7. I have two hard drives, a 128 SSD that I have windows 7 on and a 1TB mechanical Drive that I have my programs, games, pictures etc. on. Keep in mind I only had to wipe my SSD and not the mechanical drive. So all my pictures and things are still on my mechanical drive. Ok so when I went to start downloading my programs again I realized that my mechanical drive did not show up as an option to download to. So I went to the screen where you format a new hard drive and that shows you all of the drives you have that are formatted and I saw that it was formatted and that computer recognized that it was plugged in but did not let me access it at all. I need to know how to fix this so that I can download things onto the drive again without losing anything currently on it. Any help is much appreciated and I know it was kind of long so if you need me to clarify something just ask!

Solution
can you use the Disk Management console to Mount the Drive with a letter or is that not available?

Mark as Active
Change Drive Letter and Path

from right click on drive

Also, if that does not work, from Properties, can you goto Security and take ownership of the drive?

Was it encrypted?

The letter was not assigned to it. Thanks!
