I am getting issues with packet loss on my desktop. I run EMCO ping monitor on my desktop and laptop. The laptop has 100% pings passed after an hour, and my desktop has 95% pings passed after an hour. Both were tested at the same time, and multiple times to verify. At first my desktop was wired and my laptop was wifi. I installed a wifi card in my desktop and still getting packet loss (its actually a bit worse now).

So are both hosts now getting packet loss or only the laptop? It wasn't clear from your description.

Only the desktop is getting packet loss. The laptop which is on wifi never got any packet loss. I even installed a wifi NIC to replace the onboard ethernet port on the desktop to remedy the packet loss situation and it only made it worse. I tried updating the drivers for the new NIC. I tried placing the desktop and laptop next to eachother. The packet loss on my desktop is insane I can barely play anything.
