I built my current PC back in 2012, and I never had any problems with it up until a month ago.One day I noticed that after I shut it down all my lights and fans were still running, the next thing i knew I was getting BSODs, and I couldn't boot up windows.I then started getting error code 55 which means something is up with the RAM, I ran Memtest on all the sticks by themselves no problem, but in dual channel it just crashes.I read online, and I found out people have similar problems, and that it could be bent CPU pin.It had been running fine for 2 years, but I looked and didn't see anything, so I RMAd the Mobo.I got a new board back from ASRock, but I'm having the same problems, sometimes some RAM slots don't work even in single mode.I checked for bent pins, and didn't see any again.Last night I was throwing ideas at the wall, and decided to run the RAM at a lower frequency, and now it boots, but I still get BSODs.At this point I am not sure if the RAM is bad or my CPU memory controller in going.I'll take any help I can get, and any input is appreciated, I'm at wits end with this PC.

My Build
ASRock Z77 Extreme 4
3570K @ 3.4 GHz
G.Skill Sniper 2x4GB DDR3 1600 @ 1.25V
Samsung 830 SSD 256GB
WD Caviar Black 1TB
GTX 670 FTW
GTX 470 SC
Corsair TX 750

The SR2 set is designed for 1.25, you may have a stick going bad or is bad, can run Memtest to check, might try voltage at 1.3 for 1600 and see how it goes, but sounding like a possible RMA

Did you set it to 1.5V by enabling XMP?

I can manualy set it to 1.5V, but it didn't help.XMP only has 2 settings, automatic and 1.2

Can RAM pass Memtest, and still be bad?

I'd use XMP on auto.

Yep. But it could also be dirty dimm slots.

Is there another program to test ram with?, I still feel like the CPU is done, but I want to make sure.

memtest is the best of them. Use it.

Dang, I guess I'll run it again, hoping it's the RAM, and not the CPU.

Possible not that the DRAM is bad but could have compatibility issues, not all mobos have BIOSs set up to handle the low voltage DDR3

Why did it take 2 years to start having issues though, that's the part I don't get.

Any idea if it's been running at 1.25 - if under defaults it may have been at 1.5 or even higher

No, I believe I had it running at 1.35 when my CPU was OC.I don't remember if I changed it back, that was on the RMA board.

Another possible, would be that you had the MC voltage a bit higher, believe it CPUVTT on your Ex4, can try at 1.12

I raised it to 1.12, and I ran Prime95 for about an hour and a half, and then it shut off.

might head on to 1.14 and see and add another + 0.05 to the DRAM voltage

I upped them both and I'm running Prime95 again, if this doesn't work , should I start thinking about RMAing something?

RMA will be an option, first I'd look to try another set of DRAM to try and narrow things down, if you don't have any, might check with friends/co-workers and see if you can borrow a couple of sticks
