Need part advice for an upgrade

I have an i5-3570K with a Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H motherboard inside of a regular sized case with an R9 270X GPU.

I also have an i7-990X CPU that I was given as part of a Shuttle SX58J3.

What I would like to do is sell the i7 and the i5 motherboard and purchase a Raven RVZ01 case, but I'm going to need a new motherboard for it.

My questions are:

Is there a CPU I can upgrade to that's faster than the 3570k that will make a noticeable difference? In looking around online it seems that the i7-4770k might be a good pick because this site says it's faster and from I see on eBay it's cheaper too.

Will the R9 270X that I have fit in that case?

Yes it will fit in the case and the r9 270x is compatible with your motherboard and case. It wouldn't be a noticeable i would keep what you have. Its great. what are you looking to do on your pc? gaming? business? photo editing? the r9 u have is great for gaming!

I'm only doing gaming on this machine. I play a lot of FPS's like BF4, CS:GO, Far Cry 3, etc.

I'd like to spend the money I get from the i7 on the new processor and motherboard, so let's say about $400 max. However, someone else told me that I'm probably better off sticking with the 3570K because there's not much of a performance increase moving to the 4th generation processors.

Also, is there a GPU that you guys would recommend that would fit in the Raven case that would perform better than the R9 270X that I have? I don't mind buying used parts.

It looks like a tight fit to get a single R9 270X in the Raven RVZ01. Do you think two will really fit?
