So lately I have been getting blue screened and such, and I'm not sure whether or not I have found a solution. Two days ago I changed my heatsink and fan and it wouldn't start up until about 3 tries, which involved turning on and off the psu, clicking the power button, and more about 3 or 4 times.
After it finally started up, it worked perfectly and I didn't have the problem until yesterday, when it happened again. The same process happened and it worked fine yesterday as well, so I decided to wait and see if it would happen again today.
It did. And after turning it on successfully, it crashed today but without a blue screen, just a black screen. So I decided to see if I had put something in wrong. I opened up the case, took out the heatsink, unplugged some things (e.g. the 14 pin connector), and took out and put back in the graphics card and the ram.
This seemed to fix things, but then my temperatures started shooting up (around 40 and at one point up to 50 Celcius) so I checked to see what was wrong, and my cpu load had been spiking to almost 100%. It was scary, and finally I blue screened. I checked to see what was wrong and unplugged and replugged my pci power cord connecting from the psu.
I haven't crashed since then, and I'm not sure what is going on with the computer right now, but I'd like to know if I should worry about it and if I should keep looking into it or not. My fan is being a bit loud (not nearly as loud as my old fan), so I'm not really sure. My temps right now are averaging around 20-30 celcius for my cpu, and 30-40 celcius for my gpu.
My specs are below:
CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz
Motherboard: ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0
Graphics Card/Video Card: Gigabyte AMD Radeon R7 260x 2GB
RAM: 8GB DDR3 RipJaws
Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper T4
If there's any more info that you need please just let me know! I'm open to any suggestions about this problem.
