So I have an old HP netbook that I've wiped before with Boot 'n Nuke with zero problems.

This time around... I'm getting a blue screen with the error:

"Setup did not find HDD installed."

This is a first. I've never seen this one come up before. The laptop is completely wiped (via Boot 'n Nuke) so there's nothing on the drives at all. And now I can't seem to get Windows XP installed (obviously).

Anyone have any suggestions or known fixes for this?

Thanks.

Is the hard drive configured in BIOS?

Also - are you sure the drive is blank - you may have a partition that is not NTFS or FAT/FAT-32 - so Windows doesn't want to install there....

Yes, make sure the BIOS detects the HDD, if not, re-seat the drive. If you don't get any luck, try BIOS defaults.

Like I said, I wiped it with Boot & Nuke (something I've done before) but this time obviously something's up. I'm sure you're probably right that it is the BIOS, however how would I go about fixing that now (as the computer is completely wiped?

Thanks.

Here is a utility that can create/edit partitions: http://gparted.org/livecd.php

See if you can access the hard drive and create a partition on the drive.
