Just built my new PC and when I play games I get black and grey horizontal lines that move vertically on the screen. (Affects all my games)

I don't get these lines when doing basic tasks such as browsing the web, idle etc.

Specs are
i7 4790k
GTX 770
Acer 24" Monitor 60Hz

The cables for the Monitor is currently a DVI Cable connected to the monitor which has a DVI to VGA Converter on it to connect to my graphics card.

I have all the latest drivers, all help appreciated! :)

Sounds like your GPU is dead, what brand is it? You'll need to RMA it, probably.
What's your PSU?

I have a 1200 W PSU so no issues there
MY GPU is brand new though and I get outstanding FPS in games and has no issues with standard stuff.
I think it might be something to do more with the cables or monitor

Nooo, I guarantee it's the GPU. It's called artifacting, and it happens even if you get good FPS.
RMA the card. :)

But I literally unboxed it 3 days ago :'(
Does RMA Mean i like take it back or something?
I going to try just a normal VGA Cord and no DVI to VGA adapter stuff, just want to double check.
If that doesn't work RIP

Yeah, RMA is refund. What brand is the GPU? Perhaps ask for an MSI or ASUS instead.

Don't worry its fixed! :D

I was full potato and mistaked in thinking that a DVI Cable was better than a VGA cable and I was using a DVI to VGA adapter in between my Monitor and GPU

I took off the adapter and cord and replaced it with a standard VGA Cable.

Works like a charm!
