Hello. I am new at hardware related things, and after searching around, which was difficult, since this is a bit of a clunky problem, I have not found anything to help me.
PC Specs:
Windows 8, 64 Bit
8 GB of RAM
3.1 ghz cpu, intel i5 3340
This computer is out of the box, so of course the GPU is rubbish. I thought to replace it, and I had a NVidia GT 630 lying around. I replaced it without setting the house on fire, and I thought all was well. I went into the device manager and disabled the onboard GPU, and enabled the NVidia.
This allowed me to run PhotoShop cc 2014, which the onboard would not do, for some reason. Then I attempted to run one of my games--Battlefront 2, 10 years old, even my onboard GPU can handle it easily on high end settings--and I was only getting 4 FPS. I switched to my onboard GPU, and the game ran fine, without any fps lag. But, with the onboard GPU, it cannot run PhotoShop. This has me somewhat confused. I am using the newest drivers for my onboard gpu, and attempting to install the NVidia drivers results in an error telling me that I am not attached to a NVidia GPU. I would appreciate any help, thank you! If you need more information, please tell me.

There was no GPU. Just integrated graphics.

You should look up the PC requirements for Photoshop

Your GT630 should be able to run Battlefront 2 per http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=708&gam...

Put your PC details into the website and get back best settings and expected fps.

I'm surprised a 10 yo game would run on Windows 8.

This is interesting. I'm running both GPU's at the same time, and both programs are working. Photoshop said it had some sort of error, but seems fine with a cursory check. Sorry if I should have thought of this ha ha. Thank you for you help, though.

On a non-related note:
And also, it runs, but there's an incompatibility that makes the sound glitchy on Battlefront. Oddly enough, you can just plug in a mic and it works fine.
